No, every PortraitFlip painting is 100% hand-painted by a real artist from start to finish, with no AI involved at any point in the process.
Turnaround/Shipping
We offer two shipping options:
1. Free Service: You can receive the painting within 23 days. It takes 15 days for our artist to bring your vision to life, plus 8 days for delivery. There are no additional or hidden charges applicable to the Free Delivery Service.
2. Express Service: Express Service can be availed by paying an additional 15% of your order value, with the promise to reach you within 14 days. The first 10 days go into creating your artwork, and the next 4 days are for your painting to be delivered.
*Please note that the delivery is based on when you approve the order.
Yes, we deliver worldwide at no additional cost when you opt for the free delivery service.
If you have a specific date in mind, let us know through the chat widget in the bottom-left corner. Our support team will confirm whether that delivery date is possible.
Due to the size of the product, we do not ship to APO, FPO, or PO boxes.
You will receive an email with your tracking link as soon as your order is shipped. You can follow the tracking link to check the status of your artwork.
We take every precaution to ensure your artwork arrives safely. It’s wrapped in multiple layers of hard protective packaging, clearly marked “Fragile.” You can watch how we package artwork that’s rolled, framed, and gallery-wrapped.
If your order is stuck in transit, you can email us at support@portraitflip.com and we will escalate the issue. However, if your artwork is stuck in customs, it most likely takes two additional days to progress.
In case of theft or loss of your artwork during shipping, you can write to us at support@portraitflip.com and we will repaint your artwork and prioritize getting it to you.
Portrait Prices & Payments
The starting price of a portrait painting at PortraitFlip is $89. However, the price depends on the size, medium, and number of characters. For a better idea, you can check out our Pricing Page.
We do not charge extra for customizations or any modifications your painting needs.
No, you have to pay the exact price as quoted on the Pricing Page for your order. However, adding a frame or upgraded shipping may incur additional charges.
We accept all Credit and Debit Card payments through Stripe.
Yes, we accept all kinds of credit cards.
No, we do not provide cash on delivery.
We do not have a customized plan for the deposit. However, you can pay the remaining 80% in installments. To avail of it, all you have to do is write an email to support@portraitflip.com stating your request.
Yes, you can use two different cards to pay the 20% and 80% payments, respectively.
You can pay the second half of the payment once you have received the preview of the final painting and approved it.

Order Process
All our painting mediums are equally great, but our customers’ favorite has remained Oil Portraits.
The smallest portrait size depends on the medium: 8×8 for Pencil and Charcoal, and 12×12 for all other mediums. To customize, place an order for the applicable smallest size and leave your custom dimensions in the suggestion box. We'll take care of the rest.
Yes, you can definitely order a custom size. To do so, add the closest size to your desired size and leave your requirement in the suggestion box. We will make sure you receive the size you choose.
You can select the finishing option after placing your order by going to your order dashboard. Click on the “Edit” button and add a frame in the add-on services.
*Please note that you can only avail of this service up to 4 days after placing your order or until Photoshop approval. Kindly go through our Finishing Option Page before choosing your fancy.

PortraitFlip’s Timelapse Service lets you watch the process of your painting from beginning to end. You can either add the Timelapse Service when placing your order or edit your order from the dashboard after you have placed it.
*Please note that you can only avail of this service up to 4 days after placing your order or until Photoshop approval.
If your photo won’t upload due to file size or format, don’t worry. You have two options: select “Upload Later” at checkout and add the photo afterward by editing your order from your dashboard, or email it to support@portraitflip.com, and we’ll upload it for you.
Absolutely! We begin shipping only after you have previewed and approved the final painting.
The photos that come out best are the ones that are high-quality, well-lit, and show the front profile. It helps our artists create organic and detailed artwork.
Don’t worry! You can still get a handmade painting made. Just place your order, and our designer will restore the photo for you.
There is no limit to the number of characters, but you can only select up to 15 characters on the website. You can place the order by emailing us at support@portraitflip.com if it contains more than 15 characters.
PortraitFlip bars its customers from uploading more than 15 photos. If you have more than 15 pictures, you can email the rest to support@portraitflip.com after placing your order.
Photo Editing & Painting Process
All photos you submit go through a photo-editing phase, where they are cropped to size or modified to meet the customer's requirements. The edited photo is then sent to the customer for approval before the painting process begins.
Yes, with our Compilation Portraits, you can get a painting made of characters from different photographs.
We provide revisions during both the photo editing and painting stages. These revisions are unlimited and free of additional charges.
Most definitely. You can either attach your preferred background when placing the order, choose from the options we have, or let us know the kind of background you would like to use, and we will incorporate it into the painting.
PortraitFlip believes in bringing the customer's vision to life. You tell us your idea, and we will have it done. So yes, we do cater to special editing requests.
Artist
Our artists are based across the world, depending on their expertise. They come from countries like India, China, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, and the USA.
Unfortunately, you cannot choose an artist. Nonetheless, we ensure your artwork goes to an artist who is a master of the medium.
Our artists do not sign the painting. However, if you want, we can have it signed as a special request for you. Just let us know in the suggestion box, and we'll take care of it.
You can convey the changes to the artist by simply replying to the same email thread where you received the preview. We will have each part of your suggestion communicated to the artist.
Mediums like Oil and Acrylic are painted on high-quality canvas, and mediums like Pencil, Charcoal, Colored Pencil, and watercolor are painted on paper.
Refund & Return Policy
We provide a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the painting despite having availed of revisions, you can request a 100% refund by emailing us at support@portraitflip.com.
If you are not satisfied with the painting upon arrival, you can initiate a return for a 100% refund within 7 days of receiving the product. Read our detailed Return Policy.
It takes 4-5 business days for us to initiate and credit the refund. If you do not receive the refund within 5 days, feel free to write to us or start a chat with the widget in the bottom-left corner.
Once the return is initiated, you will receive the credit on your gift card itself.
Reproduction Paintings
Reproduction paintings are fine art replicas of famous original paintings. You can own a copy of the Mona Lisa, Starry Night, or any other work of art as a reproduction painting.
Our museum-quality reproduction paintings start at $210 and can go up to $2,000, depending on the size and complexity of the piece. You can check pricing for replica art here.
No, making a copy of iconic artworks is not illegal and does not trigger copyright issues if the artist has been deceased for more than 70 years.
All you have to do is click here, select the number of characters in the painting and the size, and upload the painting. Leave the rest to us!
General Questions
You can pay for the second part of the order by logging in to your account and clicking the “Pay” button next to your order.
You can only edit, i.e., buy add-on services, up to 4 days after placing your order or until your Photoshop is approved. If you want to “edit” the order after that, you will have to request it by emailing us.
